Qodo launches Agentic Toolbox with Codex marketplace plugin and Claude Code support
Qodo released an Agentic Toolbox that brings Context Engine, independent review, and governance into coding-agent workflows. Plugins cover Claude Code, Codex, and Kiro, with a Codex marketplace plugin and CLI installers.
Qodo’s Agentic Toolbox
On 2026-09-09, Qodo published Introducing Qodo’s Agentic Toolbox, describing a packaged set of tools and skills that bring Qodo’s Context Engine, independent review, and governance capabilities into coding-agent workflows.
The same day, Qodo also published Introducing Qodo for Codex, covering a Codex marketplace plugin that connects Codex to those capabilities through the toolbox.
What the toolbox equips agents to do
On the Agentic Toolbox page, Qodo states that with the toolbox agents can:
- Investigate cross-repository dependencies, pull request history, specifications, and live Git state before changing code
- Invoke an independent Qodo review on committed and uncommitted local changes before opening a pull request
- Load relevant global, workspace, and repository rules from Qodo before implementation begins
- Pull structured PR review issues into the coding session for resolution
- Create, update, activate, and scope rules across repositories
Qodo positions the coding agent as the builder and Qodo as a dedicated quality counterpart, with humans keeping control of standards, risk boundaries, and escalation policies.
Skills listed on the pages
The Agentic Toolbox post names focused skills coding agents can invoke:
qodo-codebase-wisdom— relationship graph, pull request history, and live Git state for structural questions, regressions, and cross-repository impactqodo-review— PR review engine on local committed and uncommitted changes before a PR existsget-qodo-rules— loads global, workspace, and repository coding standards into the agent sessionqodo-review-resolver— fetches PR review findings for the agent to investigate and resolveqodo-manage-standards— for authorized administrators to create, update, activate, deactivate, re-scope, and bulk-edit organizational rules from the agent session
The Codex post describes the same capability set with Codex-oriented skill labels, including Codebase Wisdom (qodo-codebase-wisdom), Local review (qodo-review), PR Resolver (qodo-review-resolver), Manage Review Standards (qodo-manage-standards), and Get Rules (qodo-get-rules).
Plugins: Claude Code, Codex, Kiro, and MCP
The Agentic Toolbox is available via Qodo’s plugins for Claude Code, Codex, and Kiro. It can also connect with any MCP-compatible client or coding agent.
For Codex specifically, Qodo says the plugin is available in the Codex plugin marketplace for the desktop app and Codex CLI. In the desktop app, open Plugins, search for Qodo, and install. In Codex CLI, use /plugins, find Qodo, and install, then start a new Codex session so the skills are available.
CLI installers
Both posts document the same CLI install commands.
macOS, Linux, Git Bash, or WSL:
curl -fsSL https://get.qodo.ai | shWindows PowerShell:
powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Command "irm https://get.qodo.ai/install.ps1 | iex"The installer detects supported coding-agent environments and configures available Qodo tools.
Node 20+ and sign-in
The Codex post states that the Qodo Agentic Toolbox requires Node.js 20 or later. You can install it without a Qodo account, but you need to sign up or log in before running its tools. The Agentic Toolbox post likewise says to sign in or create a Qodo account when prompted, and documents qodo login for command-line authentication. The first time Codex calls a Qodo workflow, the Codex post says you are prompted to sign in so the plugin can connect to your Qodo environment.
Example workflow shape
The Agentic Toolbox announcement walks through a payments-service retry change: understand the wider system with Qodo context, retrieve applicable standards, implement and independently review local changes, then resolve structured issues after a pull request opens—without copying review comments back into the session by hand. The same capabilities are listed for feature work, debugging, refactoring, dependency upgrades, security fixes, and onboarding to unfamiliar systems.
